For today's origami rose, you will have to prepare these following materials. 1) 3 crisp bills - the newer the better. The reason for choosing crisp bills is to make sure that it will hold the origami shape throughout the whole process. 2) Toothpick or pencil to roll the edges of the money origami. 3) Floral wire and tape to act as a stem.
Similar to my other posts, you can change the materials to any plain or decorative origami papers that you have. Just make sure that it possess a money shape(rectangular). Despite the beautiful design of this money origami flower rose, it is quite easy to finish the job. I took only 10 minutes to make each sets - you can choose to make a single or a bouquet of money origami roses. So without further a due, lets start today's lesson.
-Step 1-
Take out the first bill and pinch it in the middle to form a symmetrical 2-cup like shapes, as shown.
-Step 2-
Place a floral wire in between the cups and bent it down. Make sure the length was divided equally. Twist the wire to secure and form the stem. (The author uses a pipe cleaner for this demonstration)
-Step 3-
Repeat step 1 and 2 with the other bills.
-Step 4-
Arrange each petals so it will nestle inside of each other. Make sure that the arrangement concealed the open sides for each bud, just like the one shown below. Twist the wire together to secure the placement.
-Step 5-
Curl the corners of the petals using a toothpick or pencil. Use your creativity when rolling the origami rose tips so it will resemble a real flower. Alternately, you can do this way back before step 1.
-Step 6-
Take your tape and wrap it around the wire. Finish off by adding some ribbon and silk to beautify your product.
